What is full service design?

A full service interior design project takes a space from its first idea to its final realization. A typical scope captures four essential phases: schematic design, design development, contract documentation, and contract administration. Every element of your space is considered.

We aim to amplify intention and beauty throughout this standard process. The quality of our service manifests through authentic expression and meaningful interaction. In the built environment, this looks like the use of honest materials and finishes & optimizing client comfort and safety.

Full service design often includes the following:

  • concept development

  • mood boards

  • space allocations & planning

  • material and finish selection

  • plumbing and lighting selection

  • 2D & 3D visualization

  • custom millwork and furniture design

  • sourcing furniture and décor

Kind words

  • I was able to confidently leave the city for an extended period and let Erin handle all of the design and architectural decisions for my bathroom. She worked very effectively with my contractor to deliver a renovation that closely matched the original renderings and improve the functionality and look of the space. As a result, I have a beautiful new bathroom that I love.

  • [Erin] has a very grounding energy that makes it really easy to share and connect with her. I found Erin really helped me to connect to the big picture of my space. I am really looking forward to implementing these ideas into my space to help it feel more authentic and grounding. Thank you Erin!

  • Speaking with [Erin] brought clarity and some sense of direction towards the path I believe I'm on. I enjoyed every moment of my session with her!

  • As someone who has always been quite house proud, a lot of the suggestions were so helpful and really appreciated. New skills and knowledge to take with me from home to home as well.

  • I felt like I had some direction as to what I'd like and what I'd like to do, but my session with you and my prompts with you really helped illuminate parts of my history with interior spaces, why I resonate with certain types of spaces, and what of my past I should bring into my future.

  • During my session with Erin I felt totally at ease. She has such a calming approach that I couldn't help but feel calm.

  • After speaking with Erin, I was amazed by how she was able to uncover my inner needs through our conversation. Her suggestions were incredibly inspiring, and she provided me with a lot of reference materials and resources that allowed me to bring my ideas to life in the design of my home.

  • The session went beyond just design, decorating and the aesthetics. Erin asked insightful questions that encouraged reflection about my internal state and explore deeper into how my space can support me and goals. After following her suggestions I could feel a renewed sense of momentum and excitement.

Over the past ten years, I have had the privilege of collaborating with architects, designers, and bespoke furniture makers across Canada and the UK — experienced creatives and champions of their craft. Now based in Montréal, Canada, I lead a human-informed interior design practice that celebrates our rich spiritual depth and innate need to connect to each other.

As I build Cave, I hope it becomes synonymous with refuge. My intention has always been to create spaces that not only are calm, but are such because they’re a reflection of unique values and needs. They are familiar spaces, inspired by authenticity and designed with intention.

What makes our approach unique?

Calm spaces are important. With the majority of our time (86.9%) spent indoors, the design of our living spaces plays a crucial role in mitigating stress and promoting overall wellness. By considering neurobiological data such as visual complexity, symmetry, and biophilia, we design environments that align with our innate human behaviors and foster a sense of tranquility and wellbeing.

Our approach combines these instinctive design principles with your unique passions and preferences to create spaces that truly serve you.
